It’s not always hostile, but the sensitivity level definitely went up. I read a piece on https://newsmgl.com the other day that broke down how fast public debates move now and how that speed pushes people into simplified “sides.” What struck me is that many folks aren’t even angry about the core topic — they’re anxious about being misunderstood or judged. When you combine that with social media posts taken out of context, you get what looks like polarization even when most people are actually somewhere in the middle.
